Disaster Recovery
Creating a Disaster Recovery Plan is a subject people only reluctantly discuss. Despite the possibility of theft, fires, floods, power outages and natural disasters many school districts and other agencies still do not have disaster recovery plans.
With the increase in terrorist activities and natural disasters, such as hurricanes, Disaster Recovery has become more real to businesses, schools, and other government agencies.
Disaster Recovery planning does not have to be a painful process nor should it break the bank.
A comprehensive Disaster Recovery plan should include the following:
- Create a Disaster Recovery (DR) Team
- Take the time to ask the right questions
- Set the Scope
- Off-site data storage & management
- Detailed instructions for recovery
- Resume normal operations at new or alternate site
- TEST, TEST, then RE-TEST on regular basis
